Abbeville- Funeral services for Cloma Istre Griffin, 69, will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, September 24, 2011 at David Funeral Home of Abbeville with Reverend Noah Langley officiating. Visitation will held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, September 23, 2011 beginning at 2:00PM and will continue until just prior to service time on Saturday morning. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00PM on Friday evening September 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. A native of Indian Bayou and a longtime resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Griffin passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She is survived by her children, Melinda G. Doxey and her husband, Dwayne of Scott, Yvette G. Aucoin and her husband, Neil of Eunice, Kevin Griffin and his wife, Camila of Kaplan, Barry Griffin and his wife, Christin of Abbeville and Blaine Griffin and his wife, Erika of Church Point; grandchildren, Jason Doxey and his wife, Michelle, Jacob Doxey, Blair Rincones and her husband, Michael, Travis Aucoin, Kyle Griffin, Hunter Griffin, Lauren Griffin, Drake Griffin, Laine Griffin and Caiden Griffin; great- grandchildren, Akira Rincones, Zayne Doxey and Emerson Rincones, who is on the way ; step-great-grandson, Ashton Devillier; brothers, Alex Istre and his wife, Dorothy of Rayne, Adam Istre and his wife Peggy of Rayne and Raymond Istre of Kaplan and a sister-in-law, Earline Istre also of Kaplan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Istre and Eunice Leger Istre; granddaughter, Patra Griffin; brother, Eddy Istre; sister-in-law, Beverly Istre. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Doxey, Jacob Doxey, Travis Aucoin, Kyle Griffin, Drake Griffin, Blaine Griffin and Laine Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Istre and Randall Istre. The family would like to express sincere heartfelt thanks to Clomas caregivers, Andree Minor and Lynn Chatman; The ALS Association Louisiana Chapter at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and the entire staff of Hospice of Acadiana for their loving care and attention shown to Cloma and her children during her illness.
