Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Alexander Thibodeaux, age 92, Tuesday August 30, 2011 at 1:00PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Military Graveside services will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday August 30, 2011 from 8:00AM until service time with recitation of the Rosary at 10:30AM.
A native of Jeanerette, Mr. Thibodeaux died Saturday August 27, 2011 at 1:15AM at Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA where he resided at his time of death. He retired after 30 years of service with the Coca-Cola Company in New Iberia. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time at the camp on the lake. Mr. Thibodeaux was a World War II Veteran as a PFC with the 37 th Infantry Division and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by his brother, Lawless Thibodeaux of Jeanerette; sons, Alexander P. Thibodeaux, Jr. of Liberty, TX and Johnny L. Thibodeaux of New Iberia; step-son, Leon Butch Aucoin and step daughter, Linda Aucoin, both of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Randall Thibodeaux of New Iberia; Dylan Thibodeaux of Jeanerette and Sara Miller of New Iberia; and great-grandchild, Sara Miller of New Iberia.
Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hebert Thibodeaux, his parents, Telesphone and Hortence Thibodeaux, step-daughter, Yvonne A. Gandolfo and brother, Lawrence Thibodeaux.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alexander P. Thibodeaux, Jr., Johnny L. Thibodeaux, Dylan Thibodeaux, Randall Thibodeaux, Vincent Louviere and Carl Brown, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Louviere, Sr., Freddy Migues, Charles Porche, Luke Hebert, Howard Porche, Jim Pellerin and Norman Brignac.
