Leta Goodyear Viator Chambers

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Steven A. Chambers, the former, Leta Goodyear Viator, age 65, Friday November 9, 2012 at 1:00PM at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. Gene Tremie officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Thursday November 8, 2012 at 4:00PM until 10:00PM with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Friday November 9, 2012 at 8:00AM until service time.

A native of Conroe, TX and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Chambers died Sunday November 4, 2012 at 8:40AM at her residence. Leta was a LPN for 30 years and was employed with Dauterive Hospital for 15 years. She was a caring nurse and graced many patients and their families with compassion and love. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and riding motorcycles. Her most cherished times were those spent with her grandchildren. Leta was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband, Steven A. Chambers of New Iberia; sons, Danny Viator and wife Emily of Fort Worth, TX and Darryl Viator of Lafayette; grandchildren, Amber, Hannah, Katherine, Veronica and Allison Viator, Kennadi Kramer and Annelise Chambers; stepdaughter, Stephanie C. Kramer of Lafayette; stepson, Steven T. Chambers of New Iberia; twin sister, Linda Goodyear of New Iberia; brother, Bob A. Goodyear and wife Mary-Ann of New Roads; nephews, Layne Copell and wife Kristan of Boston, MA; Lance Copell and wife Courtney of Opelousas; Al Goodyear and wife April and Jon P. Goodyear and wife Karen, all of New Iberia; niece, Tiffany Goodyear of Baton Rouge; great-niece, Avery Copell, great-nephew, Leighton Copell and special friends, Suzie and J.T. Holmes and Stephanie and B.B. Nunez.

Leta was preceded in death by her parents, Doras W. Goodyear and Florence Ruch Goodyear, her brother, Warren Goodyear and her beloved puppy and best friend, Shadeaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Viator, Jr., Darryl Viator, Ward Marc Magee, Bob Goodyear, Lance Copell and Layne Copell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Chambers, Danny Viator, Sr. and Linda Goodyear.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations are made to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.
