Lafayette- A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Melba Jean Johnson Hill, 72, will be held on Monday December 3, 2012 at 11:00AM at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 720 E. Main Street, Broussard, LA 70518 with Rev. Nancy Wofford officiating. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:00AM and continue until just prior to service time at church. A native of Greenville, TX and a resident of Lafayette, LA Mrs. Hill passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking and was well known for always being ready to lend a helping hand to friends and anyone in need. Mrs. Hill is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Johnny Hill of Lafayette, LA; son Johnny Dale Hill and his wife, Connie of Shoreacres, TX; daughters, Debbie Hill Cosper of Sugar Land, TX and Leslie S. Touchet of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Jessica Miller and her husband, Jim of Sugar Land, TX, Sarah Hill of Houston, TX, Cole Hill of Shoreacres, TX, Amanda Cosper of Lafayette, LA and Jaya Touchet of Baton Rouge, LA; great grandchildren, Cameron Miller of Sugar Land, TX and Hailey Miller also of Sugar Land, TX; sister Cassandra Sandy Johnson of Lafayette, LA and brother, Leon Simpkins of Corpus Christi, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint Johnson and Lilly Mason Johnson. Visitation and funeral services will also be held at a later date and will be arranged by Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark, AR.
