New Iberia " A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for George Wayne Stelly, Age 63, on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 3:00PM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Nativity Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00AM until service time. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00AM. A native of Washington, La. and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Stelly died Sunday September 23, 2012 at 7:55PM at his residence in New Iberia. He worked for the City of New Iberia. Mr. Stelly enjoyed watching westerns, horror movies, playing cards and going to the casino. He most enjoyed caring for his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Linda Gary Stelly of New Iberia; daughter, Rachel Ransonet and husband Gerald Jay of New Iberia; two sisters, Pearl Arnaud and husband Terry of Nederland, Texas and Glenda Cohen and husband Marvin of College Station, Texas; three brothers, Olin Stelly and wife Sally of Krotz Springs, Reynold Stelly and wife Janise of Opelousas and Garith Stelly of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob and Emylie Baker and Konnor Duplechin and step grandchildren, Madison and Collin Ransonet all of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Doucet Stelly. Pallbearers will be family and friends. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia La.
