Abbeville " Funeral Services for Mr. Randolph Mike Plowden, 73, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 25, 2012 at David Funeral Chapel of Abbeville with Pastor Walter August officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Mt. Triumph Cemetery. A native of Lafayette and a resident of Abbeville Mr. Plowden died at 7:25AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at a Lafayette Hospital. He was known for his enjoyment of the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He was loved and will be sadly missed by his children. He is survived by his former wife, Mary Vernis Plowden of Abbeville; two sons, Clarence Fusilier and his wife Rita of Erath and Rev. Walter August and his wife Ruby of Houston; six daughters, Mary Harris of Abbeville, Marie Sampson and her husband Sam of Port Arthur, Cynthia LeBlanc and her husband Randy of Abbeville, Patricia Bernard and her husband Ronald of Abbeville, Barbara Plowden of Lake Charles, and Veronica Williams and her husband Allen of Maurice; a brother, Umillier Plowden of Abbeville; four sisters, Henri Bell Levine of Abbeville, Bernell Thaggart of Florida, Janie Polk of Lafayette, and Margaret Solomon of Abbeville; one uncle, Floyd Campbell, Sr. and his wife Audrey of Abbeville; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Levine; his parents, Curley Plowden, Sr. and Odeal Bowie Plowden; five brothers, Lennis Plowden, Wilmer Plowden, Sr., Curley Plowden, Jr., Melvin Plowden, and Jason Plowden, Sr.; and one sister, Melinda Reaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Clarence Fusilier, Allen Williams, Ronald Bernard, Sr., Justin Bernard, Ronald Bernard, Jr., and Randy LeBlanc. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff at Lafayette General Medical Center.
