Abbeville " Funeral services for Barbara Clostio Simon, 69, will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 2:00PM until 11:00PM. with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 8:00AM until time of services. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Barbara Simon died at 6:36PM on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, La. She survived by three sons, Eddie Simon and his wife Elzina of Erath, Carl Simon and his wife Troy of Abbeville, and Clarence Simon and his wife Stephanie of Kaplan; two daughters, Theresa S. Shackleford and her husband Harlan of Clifton, La. and Darlene Benoit and her companion James Derouen of Abbeville; five sisters, Delores Foreman of Abbeville, Mary Landry and her husband Lovelace of Erath, Judy Abshire and her husband Steven of Kaplan, Lee Ellen Toups and her husband, Glen of Abbeville, and Debra Meaux and her husband Mike of Abbeville; two brothers, Kenneth Clostio and his wife Brenda of Meaux, and Raymond Clostio and his wife Monica of Sulphur,; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Simon, Sr., son Rickey Simon, her parents, Otto and Ida Mae Lege Clostio, two brothers Alex Clostio, Sr. and Curley Clostio, one great-grandchild, Bert Paul Estelle, one niece, Gloria Landry Broussard, and special friend, Sarah Boudreaux Swin. Pallbearers will be James Derouen, Leonard Benoit, Nathan Simon, Ian Anthony, Clarence Simon III, Blake Simon, Nicholas Simon, David Lowery.
