Abbeville - Funeral Services for Mrs. Zada Gladys Ross Ketchum, will held at 4:00PM on Monday, October 8, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Vining officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Ringo Cemetery, in Ringo, Texas. Zada Ross Ketchum was born May 2, 1923 in Bonita, Texas. She and C.M. Ketch Ketchum were married April 12, 1939. Zada and Ketch moved across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Louisiana while raising their family. During these moves Zada obtained her nursing degree at Oklahoma State University in 1954. She loved being a surgical nurse and taking care of people. In 1962, Zada and Ketch transferred to Libya with Halliburton. This would begin their travels across many countries. (Libya, Nigeria, Greece, Trinidad, Scotland, and finally Holland). Zada and Ketch retired in Henrietta, Texas where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church for the last 30 years. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Petrola Chapter and Daughters of the Eastern Nile Temple No.43. Survivors include her daughter Anne Ketchum Terry Smith (Jerry); her daughter-in-law Patricia Harper Ketchum Barringer; 6 grandchildren, Torrie Terry Guzzetta (Paul), Jarrett Jess Ketchum (Melinda), Donnina Doni Ketchum Hubert (John), Danny Reynolds, Raegan Ross Terry, and Deborah DeReamer (Keith); 10 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Zada was preceded in death by her husband C.M. Ketchum, her son Jarrett S. Ketchum, her daughter Sandy Ketchum Miles, her parents, grandparents, and siblings. Ms. Ketchums family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Hospice of Acadiana for their guidance, compassion, and great personal care.
