Rudy Joseph Lange

A native and lifelong resident of Erath Rudy passed away Monday October1, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital; Rudy was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed life, his family, his greenhouses and his wood working projects.

Mr. Lange was hired by the Vermilion Parish School Board in 1958 as the first Industrial Arts Teacher at Erath High School, a position he held for the next 31 years. He developed and trained strong clubs that completed at state and national levels, earning recognition as the outstanding Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year in 1968. He was a long time supporter of Erath High School and the community. Rudy was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Community and the Knights of Columbus Council 3872.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Marion V. Lange of Erath; three sons and their wives Keith and Angela Lange of Erath, Errol and Eva Lange of Erath, and Neal and Nicole Lange of Madisonville La.; four grandchildren Lauren and Jordan Lange of Erath, and Brianna and Ethan Lange of Madisonville La. He was preceded in death by his parents Weby and Enola Romero Lange.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith, Errol, and Neal Lange, Rodney Broussard, Harold Lange, and Dale Romero; honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Segura, Michael LeBlanc, Ronnie Romero, Sterling Menard, Russell Broussard, and Jordan Lange.
