A native and resident of Jeanerette; Mrs. Camors passed away peacefully at her residence Thursday September 15, 2011 at 7:10am. Mrs. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she dedicated her life to raising and caring for her husband and nine children. In her free time Mrs. Lorraine enjoyed reading, swimming, watching LSU and Saints Football, taking trips to visit loved ones and especially going to the beach. She also enjoyed being a member of Jeanerette Sewing Club and spending time with dear friends. However, none of these activities compared to the cherished times she spent with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her nine children, Robert Camors, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Jeanerette, Angele Wood and husband Jim of Baton Rouge; Felice Sawyer and husband Mick of Edinburg, TX; Carlyle Camors and wife Valerie of Mansfield,TX; Maude Cejudo and husband Fernando of Dallas, TX; Yvonne Jenkins and husband Larry of Corsicana, TX; Lorraine Robichaux and husband Doug of Jeanerette, Marie Tilden and husband Dean of Dallas, TX and Therese Demetropoulos and husband Steve of Pascagoula, MS; twenty-two grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Bobby L. Camors, Sr.; parents, Carlyle Sr. and Maude Eldredge Bourgeois; and three brothers Carlyle Bourgeois, Jr., Eldredge Bourgeois and Lawrence Bourgeois.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Camors, Jr., Carlyle Camors, Beau Jenkins, Doug Robichaux, Guy Robichaux, David Tilden, Steve Demetropoulos and Fernando Cejudo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Wood, Larry Jenkins, Dean Tilden, Robert Camors III, Victor Camors, Troy Adams, Robert Vleck, Andre Camors, Andy Jenkins, Scott Jenkins, David Pugh, Seth Babineaux, Steven Demetropoulos, and Dr. Barrow Bourgeois.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Jacques Larroque, Hospice of Acadiana, IBC Hospice staff including Angela, Kayla, Jessica, Cari, Michelle, Carlos Russo, and Darla Guidry; Mrs. Camors Caregivers, Margery Viatoe, Wanda Polk and Carla Allen. The family would like to also extend a special thanks to Dr. Christopher Gaffga and Dr. Moses Kitakule.
