Gerald Gilven Gary Sr.

October 25, 1930 — July 4, 2012

Jeanerette " A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Gerald G. Gary, Sr, Age 81, at 10:00AM July 16, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church from 9:00AM until service time.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Gary died Wednesday July 4, 2012 at 7:00PM at Iberia Medical Center.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1425 Jeanerette and he served in the National Guard 156th Infantry Brigade in Jeanerette.

Survivors include his children, Hope E. Gary and Joette G. Verret and husband Brad both of Jeanerette, Gerald G. Gary, Jr. and wife Jill, Lacey G. Dronet and husband Randy and Martha G. Hogue and husband Jeff all of New Iberia, one sister, Merlean Bonin of Tyler, Texas, grandchildren, Kristal Myers and husband Lonnie, Duston Dronet and wife Jamie, Alexis Dronet, Jessica Owens and husband Jake and Casey Hogue and partner Julie, great grandchildren, Alaina Myers, Layla Daigle and Sophie Owens, nieces and nephews, Marty, Rhea, Billie, Douglas and David Cobb, Debra Jean Clouatre and Barry Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Avellian and Effie Hebert Gary, a grandson, Brad Verret, Jr. and two sisters, Louella Green and Audry Coswell.
