Terry Mills passed away peacefully early Saturday morning September 17, 2011 at his home in Lafayette, LA , due to complications arising from Alzheimers Disease. A brief gathering of family and close friends will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette beginning at 5:30PM until 6:30PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Hebert Mills of Lafayette, LA; two sons, Terry Mills III and Ken Mills; two grandsons and one great-grandson. Terry was a retired U.S. Navy Commander; a decorated WWII fighter pilot earning the Purple Heart and the Navy Cross during the Pacific Campaign as well as being an avid golfer and bridge player. Most of his retirement years were spent in Virginia Beach, VA where he owned and managed a well known driving range and golf school. He was also a member and Elder of the Presbyterian Wycliffe Church and in 2004 he and his wife, Gladys Marie Hebert Mills, relocated to Lafayette, LA to be closer to family.
