Russell Copp

Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Russell Copp, Age 75, at 2:00PM Thursday May 17, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday May 17, 2012 from 8:00AM until service time with a Rosary being prayed at 10:00AM. A native of Jeanerette and current resident of Oaklawn, Mr. Copp died Monday May 14, 2012 at 11:56AM at his residence. He enjoyed fishing, Zydeco and French music and he loved his weekend rides and visits with his family and friends. The family would especially like to thank Heart of Hospice and Dr. Degeyter and the nursing staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital. Survivors include his companion, Octavia Copp of Oaklawn; his two Godchildren, Art Verret Sr. and his wife Tambra of Charenton and Paul Copp of Sorrell and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Euna Barrilleaux Copp; his maternal grandparents, Ovide and Edmee Verret Barrilleaux and his paternal grandparents, Ulgair and Helene Bonin Copp. Pallbearers will be Butch Clements, Art Verret Sr., Art Verret Jr., Kevin Aucoin, Paul Copp and Michael LeBlanc, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilfred Migues, Pat Napier, Norman Brignac, Harold Melancon, Pat Verret, Jay Stevens, LeRoy Landry, Arthur Ronsonet, Eric Clements and Orry Verret.
