Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Rivers Junior Lancon Jr., the former Doris Hebert on Friday September 23, 2011 at 1:00PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette and will begin Thursday September 22, 2011 at 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue on Friday starting at 9:00AM until service time.

Mrs. Lancon, age 85, a native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette passed away Wednesday September 21, 2011 at 1:30AM at her residence. Mrs. Lancon worked as an Inspector at Jeanerette Mills and retired after 16 years with the clothing manufacturer.

Survivors include four sons, Neal P. Lancon and wife Paggi of Jeanerette, Stephen G. Lancon and wife Donna of Franklin, Mark P. Lancon and wife Sue Ellen of Watson, and Dale L. Lancon and wife Kay of Lafayette; and one sister, Joyce H. Blanchard of Erath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rivers Junior Lancon Jr.; Parents, Clairfey and Medil Hebert; and one brother, Warren P. Hebert Sr.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Neal Lancon, Stephen Lancon, Mark Lancon, Dale Lancon, Todd Lancon, Luke Lancon, and Andrew Lancon.

The Lancon family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to their mothers caregivers, Velma Williams, Deloris Lumpkin, Jenny Villiot, and Elizabeth Hurst.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St., 337-276-5151, will be in charge of arrangements.
