Beatrice Frederick Decoux

Erath - A Mass of Christian burial for Beatrice Ms. Bea" Frederick Decoux, 78, will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 2012 from 9:00 AM until time of services; a Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery.

A native of Erath, Ms. Bea passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at her daughters residence in Eighty Four, PA. Ms. Bea was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved reading, sewing, crafts, gardening, canning and making fig cakes. She loved spending time with family and many close friends whenever possible as well as her faithful pet Chubba.

She was employed as a custodian at Erath High School for 29 years, during which time she received many awards and recognitions, including 1994-95 E.H.S. Outstanding School Support Award, as well as 1994-95 Vermilion Parish School Board Outstanding School Support Award, Vermilion Parish School Board - 29 Years of Service Award and 1999-2000 E.H.S. Grand Marshall.

Survivors include her three daughters: Lois Decoux Robert of Richmond, VA, Jenny Decoux and her husband Barry Nutt of Eighty Four, PA and Ramona Decoux and her husband Scott Fontenot of Mire, LA; six grandchildren Brooke Robert and her husband Dan Carr, Jonathan Robert, Peyton Nutt, Sidney Fontenot, Whitney Fontenot, and Zachary Fontenot; her great grandchildren Michael Carr, Joseph Carr and Jonathan Braiden Robert; one brother Norman Frederick.

Ms. Bea was preceded in death by her husband Velton Decoux; her parents Rene and Lucy Menard Frederick; and one brother Leewood Frederick.

Serving as pallbearers will be Barry Nutt, Scott Fontenot, Jonathan Robert, Peyton Nutt, Dwight Frederick and Paul Frederick. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Frederick, Dan Carr, Zachary Fontenot, Jimmy Mallet, Chad Mallet, Joel Hoffpauir and Hubert Mire.

Gift bearers will be Whitney Fontenot, Zachary Fontenot, Joseph Carr, Ruby Delahoussaye and Rachael Hoffpauir. Proclaiming the scriptures will be Sidney Fontenot and Brooke Carr.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Chancellor Donald and the staff of Louisiana Oncology, MD Home Health, Dr. Akumar Sanjee and his staff in Pittsburgh, Amedisys Home Health of Pittsburgh, Odyssey Hospice Care of Pittsburgh and all her family and friends who provided love and support.
