Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Philmen Morvant the former Annie Breaux, 88, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 25, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Aaron Melancon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. A native of Youngsville and a resident of Lafayette Mrs. Morvant died at 7:25PM on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at a Lafayette Hospital. She had retired from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff Department after over 25 years of service. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Morvant and his wife Jo Ann of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Jamie Babineaux, Liz Touchet, Glenn Cormier, Dayna Matthieu, and Yvette Chiasson; nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philmen Morvant; her parents, Clephre and Victoria Gerard Breaux; a brother, Harvey Breaux; four sisters, Amy Broussard, Loule Broussard, Effie Decou and Anne Broussard; and a grandson, Randy Cormier. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffery Morvant, Glenn Cormier, Randy Chiasson, Pershing Broussard, Jason Babineaux, and Nathan Cormier. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brody Babineaux and Rocky Touchet. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Bradley Chastant, II.
