Lafayette " Funeral Services for Mrs. George Orr the former Adele Marie Romiti, 60, will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette. The Viewing will commence at 1:00PM until the time of the services at 3:00PM, with Fr. Cyprian Eze officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. A native of Scranton, PA and a resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Adele M. Orr died at 5:18AM on Friday, October 28, 2011 at a Lafayette hospital. Mrs. Adele graduated from Kutztown University and was a special education teacher for over 20 years. She retired after working for 9 years in New Iberia at Freshman High then Westgate High School. Mrs. Adele also graduated from the Famous Artist School, which inspired her love for the works of Norman Rockwell and she incorporated it in her artwork. She was also a fan of Star Trek. She was a very outgoing person who made friends easily, and was very supportive of her daughters in Girl Scouts, Choir, Cheerleading and other activities they became involved in. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, George Orr of Lafayette; two daughters, Stephanie M. Orr of Kingwood, TX and Jessica J. Orr of Iota; her mother, Helen Zarauskas Romiti of Lafayette; and a grandson, Luke Michael Lavergne. She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester R. Romiti; and a sister, Susi Romiti. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
