Theard John Romero

August 24, 1929 — September 8, 2012

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Theard John Romero, 83 on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Anne Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 PM. A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero died on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 9:45 AM in a Lafayette hospital. He retired from the City of New Iberia. Mr. Romero enjoyed visiting with friends and family and walking his little dogs. He was a loving father, grandfather and uncle. Mr. Romero will be sadley missed. He is survived by his sons, Minus Romero and his wife Pam of Maurice and Michael Romero of New Iberia; his daughter, Rebecca Derouen and her husband Jason of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Andrea and Ashley Romero, Jennifer and Jordan Derouen, Brandon and Casey Romero and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Romuald and Althea Delahoussaye Romero, his brothers, Alias, Clarence, Dunnis, Eustis and Lennis Romero; his sisters, Eunice D. Romero and Eula R. Bourque. Pallbearers will be Minus Romero, Michael Romero, Jason Derouen, Jordan Derouen, Brandon Romero and Clarence Romero, Jr..
