New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Hugh M. Bell, the former Jacqueline Jackie Voorhies, 87, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Patrick Burke officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until service time with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. A resident of New Iberia Mrs. Bell died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 9:41 p.m. at local health care facility. Mrs. Bell was employed with the city of New Iberia for 15 years. She was also a secretary for Sheriff Jerry Wattigny for many years. Mrs. Bell was an accomplished artist. She also traveled with her husband living in many countries in the Middle East and the Far East. She is survived by her children, Johanna Bell of Covington, Michael Bell and wife Monica, of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephen Bell of Elizabeth, Colorado, and Jennifer Bell of Youngsville. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Bell; and her parents James F. Voorhies and Dora Leblanc Voorhies. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Bell, Stephen Bell, Leo Landry Jr., and Blake Bordelon. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La. (337)369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
