Broussard - Graveside Services for Mrs. Raymond S. Frederick, the former Wilhelmina Van Dyke, 84, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, Louisiana. Interment will follow the services. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Community Baptist Church at 800 Rue De Belier in Lafayette. A native of Browns Mills, NJ until 1978, a resident of St. Petersburg, FL from 1978 until 2009, and resident of Broussard since 2009, Mrs. Frederick passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at her residence. She graduated from Eastside High School and Trenton State University. During World War II, she ran a lathe in a machine shop. She later became a teacher, having taught at New Libson State School in New Libson, NJ, and at Girls Clubs of America at Pinesllas Park, FL as an arts/ceramics instructor. Mrs. Wilhelmina volunteered with Child Evangelism Fellowship and King's Club for teens. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East with her grandchildren. She was a member of Calvery Baptist Church in Pemberton, NJ, Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL and her church home in Lafayette, Community Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Elsayed and her husband Mostafa and Linda Jones, all of Broussard; three grandchildren, Nadia Elsayed, Heather Doucet and husband Matthew, all of Lafayette, and Raymond Elsayed and wife Leslie of Leesville; six great-grandchildren, Juliette, Gideon, Micha, Lleyton, Samuel and Jacob; her brother Peter Van Dyke II and wife Marlene of Cape Coral, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Frederick; her parents, Peter and Theresa Fegger Van Dyke; and two sisters, Marie Vito and Alice Kilpatrick. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Youngsville, Health Care Options, Camelot of Broussard, First Options Health Care, Drs. Booher, Allie, and Hall for the care shown to their mother for the last two years, and for all the physical and spiritual care received.
