Youngsville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Anthony Mitchell, Jr., 64, will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, LA with Rev. Jason Mouton as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, April 28, 2012 beginning at 8:00AM with a recitation of the Rosary at 9:45AM in the funeral home and will continue until just prior to service time. Entombment will follow the church service at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Francis Anthony Mitchell, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on September 15, 1947 to Francis Anthony Mitchell and Angelina Zeno Mitchell. He was a 1966 graduate of Holy Rosary in Lafayette, LA. He served in the United States Army from January 24, 1968 to February 04, 1971. He entered the medical field as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and worked for over 30 years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Karen Hatter Mitchell of Youngsville, LA to whom he was married for 21 years as well as seven children, Tonette Jackson and her spouse Sundiata and their children, Keylan, Ashton, Chandon and Shana of Independence, LA, Lauren Butler and her spouse Matthew and their child, James of Independence, LA, Shawn Joseph and her spouse, Lionel and their children, Nylah and Honor of Independence, LA, Anthony, Briona, Christina and Delana Mitchell all of Youngsville, LA; his siblings, Carolyn Shelton of Lafayette, LA, Barbara Cosey and her spouse, Carl, Angela Cocoa Mackey, Cheryl Miller and her spouse, Clarence, Michael J. Mitchell and his spouse, Glenda, Frederick J. Mitchell, Ronald R. Mitchell and his spouse, Nancy, and Gerald W. Mitchell all of Houston, TX; two aunts, Patricia Mayon and Marie Wynn both of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Anthony Mitchell, Sr. and Angelina Zeno Mitchell; paternal grandmother, Laura Richard Mitchell; paternal grandfather, Anthony Mitchell; maternal grandmother, Antionette Prejean Zeno and maternal grandfather, Junious (Janus) Zeno Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, Ronald Mitchell, Frederick Mitchell, Gerald Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell and Cameron Dixon.
