Lafayette- Funeral Services for Huey Pierce Pappy Cosse, 76, will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Rev. Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume at 8:00AM on Thursday until just prior to services. Entombment will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Youngsville following services. Huey a longtime resident of Youngsville, LA passed away at his home on Monday May 21, 2012. He was born in New Orleans, LA on September 11, 1935 and lived in Pointe-a-la-Hache, LA until 1975 when he moved to Lafayette; from there he moved to Youngsville where he has resided for the past 30 years. Mr. Cosse was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for United Gas Pipeline Co. since graduation from high school. When he moved to Lafayette, he was a member of the Sea Robin Crew offshore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Earline Suire Cosse of Youngsville, LA; daughter, Katherine Cosse Daigle and her husband, Daniel of Lafayette, LA and son, Glenn Patrick Cosse and his wife , Linda of Youngsville, LA.; granddaughter Chelsey Cosse Herren and her husband, Quindin of Youngsville, LA and one grandson Haidon Michael Cosse also of Youngsville, LA; sisters, Myrtle Cosse Virgillio of Kenner, LA,, Shirley Cosse Fancher also of Kenner, LA; brother, Lawerence Cosse and his wife, Jane of Casa Grand,AZ ; sister-in-law, Gail Cosse of Denham Springs, LA; nieces, Susan Virgillio Himes and her husband, Bob of Geismer, LA, Lynn Virgellio Bitz and her husband, Dan of Indiana, Alora Cosse Medare and her husband, James of Belle Chase, LA, Dreama Cosse of Thompson, TX; nephews, Dennis Favaloro and his wife, Patty of Slidell, LA, James Jimmy Favaloro and his wife Sue of Kenner, LA, Robert Cosse of Houston, TX and Kevin Cosse and his wife Nona of Denham Spring, LA . He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Alfred Cosse, Sr. and Carman Barberot Cosse; sister, Lorraine Cosse Favoloro and one brother, Joseph Alfred Cosse, Jr.; nephews, Gasper Sonny Virgillio, Jr. and Bruce Cosse; brothers-in-law, Frank Fancher, Gasper Virgillio, Sr. and Edward Favaloro. Pallbearers will be Glenn Cosse, Daniel Daigle, Quindin Herren, Pervis Suire, Phillip Simmons, III and James Favaloro.
