Monique graduated from UL in 1994 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She decided to pursue a career in law enforcement after college. Her career spanned over 15 years with various law enforcement agencies and culminated in her position as a special agent with ATC (Alcohol and Tobacco Control). She was with ATC for over 9 years and achieved the position of special investigator. She was a very dedicated law enforcement officer and always felt like it was her duty to help and protect others. She approached her job as she approached the rest of her life, throwing herself into her work and putting her heart in everything she did. Monique was also a loving mother. Her daughter, Addison, was her heart. She dedicated herself to being a good mother and giving her child the love and attention she needed. Monique always wanted Addison to know that she was loved. As well as being a loving mother, she was also a loved daughter and sister. She will always be remembered for her smile and her willingness to give. She had a great capacity for love and would do anything for anyone. Monique was a great friend, co-worker, niece, cousin, sister and daughter and we will miss her every day. We know that she is now in peace and flying with the other angels. Survivors include her daughter Addison Hope Kelly of Broussard; her parents Robert Bob and Rita Debaillon Daigle of Broussard; one brother Jake Daigle of St. Martinville; her sister Monica Daigle Dowden of Lafayette; her maternal grandmother Hilda Fontenot Debaillon of Opelousas; her nephew Robert Dowden; and her niece Chelsea Rae Daigle of St. Martinville, her former sister-in-law Jill Tauzin of Lafayette. Monique was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Joseph Debaillon; and her paternal grandparents Adeus and Francis Richard Daigle. David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway (337) 837-9887 will be in charge of the arrangements.
