Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Murphy J. Menard the former Stella Theriot, 86, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. A native of Henry and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Menard died at 1:12PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Maison du Monde Nursing Center. She was known for her strong love for family, cooking and gardening. She is survived by a son, Randall Menard, Sr. and his wife Loretta of Abbeville; three daughters, Catherine Menard and her husband Charles Lejeune of New Iberia, Rebecca Cormier and her husband Joe of Erath, and Sheila Gillen and her husband Michael of Erath; a brother, Paul Emick Theriot of Abbeville; two sisters, Louise Libersat of Henry and Louella Mouton of River Ridge, LA; seven grandchildren, Tyra Hunter, Randall Menard, Jr., Kevin Cormier, MD, Justin Cormier, Nathan Cormier, Lindsay Gillen, and Joshua Gillen; and three great grandchildren, Casey Hunter, Cameron Hunter, and Jayne Katherine Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy J. Menard; her parents, Elmick and Celima Soirez Theriot, and a son, Daniel Menard. Serving as pallbearers will be Randall Menard, Sr., Randall Menard, Jr., Kevin Cormier, MD, Justin Cormier, Nathan Cormier, and Joshua Gillen. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Cormier, Charles Lejeune, and Michael Gillen. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and Maison du Monde Nursing Center. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
