Abbeville- Funeral services for Mrs. Howard Bessard, the former Mary Ardoin, 81, will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 1:00PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon David Vaughn officiating. Visitation will begin on Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 10:00AM until time of service, with the recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville A native of Ville Platte and a resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Bessard, age 81, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 6:30PM at a local hospital. Mrs. Bessard is survived by her two sons, Howard P. Bessard of Abbeville, and David Bessard and wife Cynthia of Abbeville; two daughters, Olivia Bessard Flowers and husband Joseph of Lafayette and Mary Bessard of Lafayette; Three daughters-in-law, Beverly Boudreaux of Abbeville, Mary Rose Castille of Abbeville, and Pam Bessard of Houston, TX.; and one sister, Rita Jordan of Abbeville, as well as a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Howard Bessard, her parents Uric and Teola Manuel Ardoin, sons; Harvey Bessard, Tommy Bessard and James Bessard, brothers; Charles Ardoin and Lawrence Ardoin, and sisters; Annie Mae Joseph, Viola Hoffpauir, Wilda Myles, and Hazel Lola Walker.
