Betty Duhon Leblanc

Jeanerette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Robert LeBlanc, the former Betty Jean Duhon, 60, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery following services.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. Visitation will resume the following morning at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of Abbeville, Betty was born on August 4, 1951 in Jeanerette and passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 8:05 AM in a Lafayette hospital. Betty was an exceptional woman. Her heart was as big as gold and offered anything she could to those in need when she could, even if it was a stranger. She treasured all her children, grandchildren, and great grandson dearly. They were the light of her life. She always occupied her grandchildren with all kinds of life stories. She enjoyed baking cookies and brownies for her grandchildren and cooking gumbos, chile, etouffee, and big holiday dinners for her beloved family. She also loved to play bingo as often as possible.

Betty is survived by her sons, Scott Duhon and Craig LeBlanc; daughter, Robin LeBlanc; grandchildren, Stephanie Trimble, Scott Maturin, Brittney Duhon, Logan Duhon, Hayley Duhon, Chloe Duhon, Meggan Bateman, and Jade Bateman; great grandson, Dairion Duhon; sister, Virgil Curtis; brothers, Edgar Duhon Jr. and Larry Duhon, sister-in-law, Marie Duhon; brother-in-law Billy Duhon; best friend, Julie Hendry; daughters-in-law, Daphne Landry and Patricia LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert LeBlanc; mother, Bernadette Duhon; father, Edgar Duhon Sr.; sisters, Lisa Ann Duhon and Elaine Duhon; niece, Tina Duhon; nephew, Jacob Duhon; brothers, Donald Duhon and Terry Duhon; sisters-in-law, Peggy Duhon, Linda Duhon and Luna Duhon; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Curtis Sr.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scott Duhon, Craig LeBlanc, Scott Maturin, Logan Duhon, Edgar Duhon Jr. and Weakless LeBlanc.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at her nieces Tracies Raggette and Ashley Duhon following the services on Wednesday.
