Leah Couvillier Seaux

New Iberia- A mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Willie Seaux, the former, Leah Rita Couvillier, age 87, Saturday January 19, 2013 at 10:00AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Duhon officiating. Interment will follow in St. Marcellus Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday January 18, 2013 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Saturday January 19, 2013 from 7:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Seaux passed away at Belle Teche Nursing Home on January 16, 2013 at 7:20PM. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Leah was an active member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society and Wake Ministry. As a homemaker, she enjoyed tending to her yard and especially loved cooking for her family and friends. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Seaux is survived by her two sons, Dennis J. Seaux, Sr. and wife Judy, Wilton N. Seaux and wife Ann and one daughter, Gloria Seaux Hebert and husband Craig, all of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Dennis Seaux, Jr., Troy Seaux, Senette Seaux Weger, Cody Santiny, Jeremy Seaux, Nicole Hebert Romero, Jacob Hebert; 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Lillie Couvillier Beadle, one brother, Harry Couvillier and a special friend, Serena Rogers.

Mrs. Seaux was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Seaux and a special companion, A.B. Elliot; her father, Ano Couvillier, her mother, Aline Norris Couvillier; three sisters, Lucille and Rena Couvillier and Lucy Couvillier Broussard; her six brothers, Aristide, John, Homer, Felix, Walter and Howard Couvillier; one daughter-in-law, Mona Moore Seaux and one great grandchild, Cason Nicholas Seaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Seaux, Jr., Troy Seaux, Damon Weger, Jacob Hebert, Lane Romero and Jeremy Seaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Seaux, Sr., Wilton Seaux, Craig Hebert, Harry Couvillier and Gerald Lassalle.
