Abbeville " Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. John French White, the former Melba Vivian Vincent, 92, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, July 30, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Ron Dubois officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Lake Arthur Cemetery, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. A native of Pecan Island and a resident of Abbeville, Mrs. White passed away at 10:10PM on Friday, July 27, 2012 at her residence. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by a son, Norman White and his wife Mary of Alvin, Texas; daughter Myrna McDougle of Abbeville; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters Velma Quibodeaux of Kaplan and Myrtle Winch of Lafayette; and brother Wade Vincent of Kaplan. She was preceded in death by her husband, John French White; parents Ivy and Camillita Bertrand Vincent; brothers Calvin Vincent, Preston Vincent , McCoy Vincent and A. G. Vincent. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Bertrand, Jay DeKohary, Cameron DeKohary, Austin West, Kevin Shumate, and Norman White, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, Home Health and Stat Hospice for the love and care they extended to Melba.
