Funeral Services for Doodie Lester Dufrene, 76, will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette Chapel with Brother David Rousse, officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 4, 2012 from 2:00PM until just prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date. A native of Des Allemands and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Dufrene passed away on Monday, April 02, 2012 at Lafayette General Hospital. Doodie was a loving Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter, Tina D. Edge and her husband, Tommy of Lafayette; daughter April D. Wynn also of Lafayette; daughter-in-law, Nadine Dufrene of Avondale, LA; granddaughter, Rachel Edge and her fiance Don Nash of Lafayette; grandson Bryan Edge and his wife, Laurie also of Lafayette; grand daughter, Emily Wynn and her fianc Mike Jensen of Milwaukie, OR; grandson R.J. Wynn of Lafayette; granddaughter, Shanelle Fernandez and her husband, Paulie of Avondale, LA; grandson Joseph Dufrene and his wife, Sheantel of Marrero, LA; granddaughter Mary Dufrene also of Avondale, LA; Great- grand daughters Faith Nash and Grace Nash both of Lafayette and Mia Fernandez of Avondale, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Barbara Hebert Dufrene;his parents Joseph and Domitilde DuFrenia Dufrene ; son, Steve A. Dufrene and granddaughter Eugenie Dufrene.
