Selina Hebert Gerami

July 19, 1919 — September 5, 2012

Jeanerette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Robert P. Gerami, Sr. the former Selina Hebert, Age 93, at 1:00PM Monday September 10, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00AM until service time.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Gerami died Wednesday September 5, 2012 at 10:35PM at her residence in Jeanerette.

Mrs. Gerami was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 26. She was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

The family would especially like to thank Rosemary Tauriac, Elizabeth Pony Boutte, Elaine Landry and Kim Judice for the loving care given to Mrs. Gerami.

Survivors include her first and only love and husband of 74 years, Robert Peter Gerami Sr.; children, Mary G. Hebert and husband Gerald and Jovana Gerami both of Jeanerette and Timothy J. Gerami and wife Jadi of Lafayette; one brother, Patrick Hebert and wife England of New Iberia, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Peter Gerami, Jr.; parents, Cyril J. Hebert Sr. and Odile Hebert Hebert; grandson, Anthony Gerami; two brothers, Cyril J. Hebert Jr. and Willie Hebert and a sister, Lorena Clark.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
