Dave John Schexnayder, Sr.

June 23, 1920 — November 30, 2011

Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Dave J. Schexnayder, Sr., 91, will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath with Rev. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Church in Richard, LA, as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 3:30PM until 8:30PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:00AM at David Funeral Home of Erath and will continue until just prior to service time. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

A native of Delcambre and a long time resident of Erath, Mr. Schexnayder passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at his residence in Erath.

Mr. Schexnayder was an electrician by trade, a retired Small Businessman and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend to many, who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Dave Schexnayder, Jr. and his wife, Tina of Lafayette; his grandsons, Nick Schexnayder of Lafayette and Cory Williamson, also of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell LeBlanc Schexnayder; and his parents, Nechol Schexnayder and Ada Landry Schexnayder.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Marcus Hebert, Jimmy Poche, Tommy LeBlanc, Mike Landry, Lovelace Touchet, Al Rahim, Joe Morvant and Cory Williamson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Landry, Todd Segura, Calvin Landry, Whitney Walker, June Porier and Bradley Baudoin.
