Youngsville - Funeral Services for Mr. Gladu Bourque, 102, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, December 5, 2011 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at David Funeral Home of Lafayette beginning at 9:00AM until just prior to service time with a recitation of the Rosary at 1:00PM. Entombment will follow services in St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum in Milton, LA. Mr. Bourque was a native of Lafayette Parish and a long time resident of the Youngsville area. He worked as a carpenter for many years prior to his retirement, having built many homes and structures, many of which were for his loving family members. He also remained very active for many years after, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Dallas Bourque and his wife, Dolores of Youngsville, LA; granddaughters, Charlotte B. Meche and her husband, Rickey of Youngsville, LA, Cheryl Bourque of Houston, TX; grandson, Randy Bourque and his wife Shelly of Youngsville, LA; two great-granddaughters, Rikki Ann Meche and Gillian Bourque, both of Youngsville, LA; great-grandsons, Brandon Guidry, Brett Guidry and Ryan Guidry all of Houston, TX and Andrew Bourque of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Ida Baudoin Bourque and his parents, Ophelias Bourque and Marie Desormeaux Bourque. Serving as pallbearers will be Dallas Bourque, Rickey Meche, Randal Bourque, Brandon Guidry, Brett Guidry and Ryan Guidry.
