Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Monkey Gayle Sandoz, 82, will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native and lifelong resident of Erath Mr. Sandoz died at 9:17AM on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at his residence. He proudly served his country in the US Army during to Korean conflict. He was the former owner of Tee Coes Drive Inn; and Sandozs Bar. He raised game chickens for over 40 years and was known for his love to duck hunt and fish. He also had a great passion for cooking. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Reaux Sandoz of Erath; a son, Derek Sandoz of Erath; a daughter, Kay Brasseux and her husband Troy of Erath; a sister, Virginia Doris Rousseau of Praireville; and two grandchildren, Courtney Brasseux and Tyler Brasseux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Arthur Sandoz, Sr. and Ida Hulin Sandoz; four brothers, Gordon Sandoz, Nolan Sandoz, Alvin Sandoz, and Joseph Arthur Sandoz, Jr.; and four sisters, Annie Broussard, Hilda Webb, Elanor Landry, and Lena Mae Sandoz. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Horne, Tyler Brasseux, Charlie Landry, David Landry, Lou Landry, Arthur Sandoz, Boake Sandoz. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be handling the arrangements.
