Loreauville " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Vernon Gonsoulin the former Lillian Ransonet, age 92, at 11:30 AM Sunday December 11, 2011 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Tom Finley officiating. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday December 10, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume Sunday from 8:00 AM until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Belle Place, Mrs. Gonsoulin passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday December 9, 2011 at 10:54 AM at Camelot Assisted Living. She was a homemaker whose life was devoted to husband, her children and her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Bill Gonsoulin and wife Cheryl of Lafayette and Jim Gonsoulin and wife Sandra of Loreauville; three daughters, Jean Toepfer of Lafayette; Perry Moreau and husband Lou of Tulsa, Ok.; and Sheree Lavalais and husband Morgan of New Iberia. Grandchildren: Marie Celestin of Harahan; Cheryl Toepfer of Lafayette; Jeff Gonsoulin and wife Andrea of Broussard; Julie Smith and husband Patrick of Denton, Texas; Elizabeth Scott and husband Aaron of Baton Rouge; Justin Moreau and Jason Moreau and wife Emily, all of Tulsa, Ok.; James Gonsoulin and wife Erica of Boiling Springs, SC; and Dwayne Lavalais of New Iberia; a sister-in-law, Mildred Blackie Gonsoulin; 10 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Vernon Gonsoulin; a daughter, Claudette Burt; parents, Leonard and Adele Marie Bernard Ransonet; and three brothers, Lawrence, Neal and Julius Ransonet. Pallbearers will be Bill, Jim, Jeff and James Gonsoulin and Justin and Jason Moreau. Honorary pallbearers will be Lou Moreau, Phil Burt, Morgan Lavalais, Ken Segura, Harvey Gonsoulin, David Doerle, Ronnie Gonsoulin Jr. and Julius Buddy Ransonet.
