Agnes "Toot" Guidry Drouet

April 2, 1929 — December 15, 2011

Broussard " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Agnes Toot Guidry Drouet, 82, will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume on Saturday from 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A native of Arnaudville and resident of Broussard, Toot passed away on the morning of Thursday, December 15, 2011 at a local hospital. She had several hobbies and loved to travel with her husband throughout the USA. She enjoyed camping with friends and family. Mrs. Drouet also loved to do paintings. Her favorite theme was magnolias. She was retired with the Lafayette Parish School System where she was a Teachers Assistant for children with special needs. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Drouet and wife Dee of Carencro; daughter, Debbie Hebert and husband Chris of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Dexter Drouet, Trace Drouet and Mike Hebert; one great-grandchild, Makayla Drouet; and three sisters, Marie Vallot and Barbara Romero, both of Broussard, and Diane Romero of Grand Coteau. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Onila Drouet; her parents, Theobald and Alice Courville Guidry; her brother, Clarence Guidry; and two sisters, Bunice Romero and Bernice Dooley. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Drouet, Mike Hebert, Russell Vallot, Chris Hebert, Dexter Drouet and Trace Drouet. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Frederick, Leo Douet and Pat Vallot. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Drouets name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. The family would like to express their thanks to Lafayette General Hospital nurses, Hospice of Acadiana and the staff at Camelot of Broussard for their care for Mrs. Drouet. Also, a special thanks to Russell and Marie Vallot and their family who were always with us and helped us. You will always have a special place in our familys hearts.
