Michael Fidney Trahan

A native and long time resident of Abbeville, Mr. Trahan passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at his residence in Abbeville.

Michael was employed by Seacor Marine with 20 years of service as an Offshore Stewart. He graduated from Vermilion Catholic High School in 1967 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology from The University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette (now ULL). He was an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Army having completed a tour in Viet Nam as a Light Weapons Infantryman and was also a Lifetime Member of VFW Post 9822 in Judice, LA. His love for the water shined through in many things he did and choices he made throughout his lifetime. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his father, Fidney Trahan of Maurice, LA; sister, Brenda T. Dronet of Lafayette, LA, brother, Stanley Trahan and his wife, Nancy of Meaux, LA; sister, Ginger T. Adams and her husband, Chester of Ridge, LA; brother, David Trahan and his wife, Suzette of Abbeville, LA ; two godsons, Rocko Cessac of Lafayette, LA, Jonas Adams of Shreveport, LA and 9 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zula Broussard Trahan and brother-in-law, Michael Dronet.
