Wilbert Francis "Billy" Duplantis

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Billy died Monday December 19, 2011 at 12:15PM in a New Iberia health care facility.

Billy enjoyed fishing and going to the camp with his family at Cypremort Point. He was a self employed mausoleum contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Fuqua Duplantis of New Iberia; three sons, Tyson Duplantis and wife Stephanie of Walker, La., Bradley Duplantis of New Iberia and Brian Duplantis of Lafayette; one brother, J. David Duplantis and wife Mary Ellen; two sisters, Amelie D. Dartez and Mary Ellen D. Romero and husband Roland all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Michael, Allie and Emily Duplantis and nieces and nephews, Leah Williams, Aimee Shwery, David Duplantis, Zachary Dartez, Stephanie Dartez, Jason, Gregory, Elliot and Meghan Romero, Shane and Hayden Fuqua and Anthony and Mark Pagnotto.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert C. and Frances Broussard Duplantis.

Pallbearers will be Tyson, Bradley and Brian Duplantis, Tommy Fuqua, Jeff Lines and Roland Romero.
