Lafayette - Bill Rimes (Grand Dee), born December 2, 1917 in Ruston, LA peacefully passed away at home of natural causes on December 27, 2011. Bill was a long term resident of Lafayette and New Iberia, LA. As a young man he worked for the United States government as a veterinarians assistant bull-dogging, roping and vaccinating cattle. During World War II, he served as a fireman in Marshall, LA and he later owned and operated Rimes Tool Company for oil field service in New Iberia, LA. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bill will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marianne Dupuy. He is survived by his only child, Linda Rimes Donado; one sister, Betty Jean King; a beloved nephew, Thomas Walker and his wife Clardel Cleveland; three grandchildren, Mary Amanda Donado, William J. Donado and his wife Ameila Josey, Anthony Donado and his wife Tracy Kennan; and four great grandchildren (his sugar pie babies ), Josey, Mary Cate, Rimes and Lola Donado.
