Charles Paul Menard, Sr.

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Charles P. Menard, Sr., age 80, Thursday September 13, 2012 at 1:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday September 12, 2012 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday September 13, 2012 from 10:00AM until service time.

A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Menard died Monday September 10, 2012 at 8:20AM in St. Martin Parish. Charles was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of New Iberia High School Class of 1951, the finest class ever matriculated. He attended SLI earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology in May 1956 and was a member of Sigma Gamma Epsilon. Charles retired after 30 years with Mobil, serving as Exploration Manager covering assignments in New Orleans, Dallas, TX and Stavanger, Norway. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his deer and duck lease with his hunting buddies.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jo Anne Jan Menard of New Iberia; son, Michael David Menard and wife Lorraine of Hampton, VA; daughter-in-law, Maria Consuelo Menard of New Iberia; and the joy of his life, his grandson Andr Pierre Menard.

Mr. Menard was preceded in death by his son, Charles Chuck Menard, Jr., his parents, Paul and Rhena Domingue Menard and his brother, Pat Menard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Big Mike Gary, Ben Langlinais, Tom Greig, Daniel Dugas, John Thibodeaux and Ryan Thibodeaux.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Marine Wounded Warrior Regiment, Department of Navy Gift Fund, 3025 John Quik Rd., MCB Quantico, VA 22134.
