Gladys Sinegar Williams

Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Walter Williams, Sr. the former Gladys Beekie Sinegar, 80, will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 8:30AM until the time of the service with a recitation of the rosary at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Green Baptist Church Cemetery. A native and resident of Abbeville Mrs. Williams died at 11:12AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at her residence. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, strong and gentle matriarch whose sincerity flowed from her abiding faith in God. She was employed at Heritage Manor of Abbeville for several years in two different areas which was, Dietary and Nutrition and Private Duty Skill Nursing Care. As she retired she worked for Dr. Perry Sudduth several years, and Dr. Stephen and Mrs. Shellie Collins of Erath for over 20 plus years as they were part of her family their children raised as her own. Mrs. Williams was a faithful member of the St. Theresa Choir, Ladies Altar Society, Eucharistic Ministry, and the Homebound Eucharistic Ministry. Be converting to Catholicism she was born a Baptist and was a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Abbeville for over 50 years and was an Eastern Star Member where she served as a Matron. She coordinated her progressively, responsible career and lived a wonderful and fulfilling life. She has influenced so many people. She was always a very loving, supportive, and giving individual. Her smile, laughter, and consummate professionalism will never be forgotten. She is survived by her three loving children, Ms. Toni Marie Saddler, Walter Puppie William, Jr., and Darren Lee Williams, Sr. all of Abbeville; a special daughter in law, Mrs. Lea Williams also of Abbeville; her grandchildren, Russell Saddler, Jr., Mark Saddler, Cody Williams, Cordell Williams, Darren Williams, Jr., Natasha Lashea Williams, Reco Williams and Ashley Collins; her great grandchildren, Kayshae Maze, Jaylee Williams, Tyler Spraggin, Cameron Williams, Bryson Ferguson, Jaden Ferguson, Kaden Williams, and Kristen Williams; a sister, Ruby Cornelius, her brother in laws, Joseph Hebert, Joseph Mouton, J.W. Griffen, Vernice Williams, Gene Williams, Sr., and Wallace Williams; and a sister in law, Diane Sinegar. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Walter Williams, Sr., her parents, Amile and Maggie Henderson Sinegar; four brothers, Lynus Sinegar, Leon Sinegar, Preston J. Sinegar, and Dr. Lee Alton Mickey Sinegar; five sisters, Clotile Proctor, Mathilda Griffen, Rose Nell Mouton, Lujacquiline Sinegar, Helen Herbert; her sister in laws, Willa Mae Williams, Sadie Williams, Rachel Williams, Janet Williams, and Rose Bessard; and her brother in laws, Chester Williams, Elgene Williams, Leroy Bessard, and Ambrose Williams. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Saddler, Jr., Cordell Williams, Darren Williams, Jr., Cody Williams, Reco Williams, and Leonard Mitchell. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Joseph Hebert, III, Jared Hebert, Joseph Mouton, Kenneth Griffen, Billy Ward, and Marcus Sinegar. The Williams family would like to extend thanks to the staff and nurses at Heart Hospital and the Heart of Hospice. Also very special thanks to her nieces Ms. Jackie Hebert of Abbeville, Mrs. Janet Clark of New Orleans, and for all the prayers, cards, visits, and support that has been extended.
