Velma Fermenthal Keith

New Iberia " Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Douglas Keith the former Velma Louise Fermental, Age 81, at 10:00AM Tuesday January 24, 2012 at Beau Pre Cemetery with Father Don Pelous officiating. Visitation will be Monday January 23, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and Tuesday from 8:00AM until service time at the funeral home. A native Abbeville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Keith died Friday January 20, 2012 at 3:05 AM. She was a devoted parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she taught religion for 20 years. She enjoyed singing, sewing and gardening. She will also be remembered for her delicious fudge. Survivors include her children, Russell Paul Keith of New Iberia and Nancy Miller and husband Steve of Palm Bay, Florida; one brother, Lessin J. Fermental of Chula Vista, California; a sister Linda Wotipka of Abbeville and her grand fur babies, Rosceaux and Roux-Bee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Keith; her parents, Oneil and Enedia Meaux Fermental and a sister, Mary Helen Guidry. Pallbearers will be Steve Miller, Kris Wotipka, David and Jon Guidry and Rachel Segura. Honorary pallbearer will be Russell Paul Keith. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La.
