A native of Simmesport and longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Sam died Friday January 20, 2012 at 4:44PM at his residence in Jeanerette.
Mr. Sam worked as a foreman for Brown and Root oilfield construction retiring after 27 years of service. He was in the U.S. Marines having served during WWII. He loved gardening and going to the casino.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rena Hebert Delaney of Jeanerette; his daughter, Peggy D. Fabre and husband Terry; two grandchildren, Kerry Fabre and Kyle Fabre and wife Michelle all of Scott; one great grandchild, Gavin Fabre of Scott and two brothers, Johnny Delaney of Baton Rouge and Louis J.T. Delaney of Hammond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillie Lazarone; a sister, Rose Delaney and three brothers, Lawrence, Joe and Jack Delaney.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Gavin Fabre will be an honorary pallbearer.
