New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Ivan John Mike Armentor, Age 91, at 1:00PM Monday April 30, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Stemmons officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday April 30, 2012 from 9:00AM until service time with a Rosary being prayed at 11:00AM. A native of Abbeville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Armentor died Friday April 27, 2012 at 2:50PM at Consolata Nursing Home. Mr. Armentor enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles, reading and cooking. He especially loved being with his family. Mr. Armentor was a Veteran of the U.S Marine Corp having served during WWII. As most Veterans of WWII he was never one to acknowledge or accept awards for himself although he was always the first to commend the men under his command all the way through his working civilian life after the Corp. He has always kept to himself his memories of war. His most prized possessions were his Purple Hearts. That was his cross to bear in remembrance of his men. Survivors include his wife, Christine Teenie Muffoletto Armentor of New Iberia; children, Richard G. Armentor and wife Connie, Patrice A. Fontenot and husband Eugene and Melanie A. Blanchard and husband Greg all of New Iberia; one brother, Roy Armentor of New Iberia; one sister, Betty A. Thibodeaux of Abbeville; grandchildren, Michael J. Armentor, Jr. of Lafayette, Christopher Armentor of Jeanerette, Lindsey A. Guillory of New Iberia, Jason Armentor of Lafayette, Monique F. Romero of St. Martinville, Matthew Fontenot of New Iberia and Jordy Blanchard of Lafayette and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Armentor; parents, Joseph and Orta Guidry Armentor; one brother, Lloyd Armentor and a sister May A. East. Pallbearers will be Michael Armentor, Jr, Christopher Armentor, Jordy Blanchard, Matthew Fontenot, Doug Romero and Jason Armentor.
