New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Harvey Edward Scott, Age 85, at 10:00AM Friday February 17, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Jeffreys officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Ball, Louisiana at 2:00PM. Visitation will be Thursday February 16, 2012 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Masonic service being held at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Friday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Portland, Arkansas, longtime resident of Morgan City and current resident of New Iberia, Mr. Scott died Tuesday February14, 2012 at 8:58AM at Azalea Estates in New Iberia. Mr. Scott worked as an oilfield salesman. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge in New Iberia, a past member and past Master of the Doric Lodge in Morgan City. He was also a member of the St. Mary Shrine Club in Morgan City and Acacia Shrine Temple of Baton Rouge. Mr. Harvey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morgan City and a Charter member of Highland Baptist Church in New Iberia. Survivors include a son, Gerald Scott and wife Jean of New Iberia; a daughter-in-law Faye Scott of New Orleans; grandchildren, Lisa S. Beaubouef and husband Bret of Castle Rock, Colorado, Robert Scott and wife Shelly of Baton Rouge, Kristy Gilpin and husband Brandon of Baton Rouge, Katie Scott of Lafayette and Michael Scott of Denver, Colorado and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Mosley Scott; a son, Bobby Scott; parents, John D. Scott Sr. and Mamie Ophelia Sutton Scott and two brothers, John D. Scott Jr. and Louis Ray Scott. Pallbearers will be family and friends and Red Adams and sons will be honorary pallbearers. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La. (337)369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
