Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Claude Bourque the former Emma Lou Bearb, 72, will be held at 1:00PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Broussard with Fr. Edward Duhon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, February 17, 2012 beginning at 4:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. The funeral home will remain open until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Mrs. Bourque a resident of Grand Coteau and a former long time resident of Broussard died at 9:34AM at Opelousas General Hospital. She was talented as a seamstress and creating floral designs which she enjoyed doing for friends, family and the public. She also enjoyed playing cards. Mrs Emma Lou will be greatly missed. She is survived by a son, Bryan Bourque and his wife Karla of Grand Coteau; two daughters, Sandra Cormier of Carencro and Karen Bourque of Carencro; two brothers, Laurice Bearb of Rayne and Preston Bearb of Scott; a sister Shirley Gaudeau of Sunset; eight granchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bourque; her parents, Zepharin Bearb and Ezola Hebert Bearb; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Bourque, a brother, Osten Bearb; and a sister, Naomie DeGranger. Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Bourque, Cody Bourque, Corsty Cormier, Larry Bearb, Jordan Bearb, and Casey Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Brimmage and Jude Trahan. David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
