Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Joseph Claude Hebert the former Gercie "Put" Derouen, age 84, at 11:30AM Thursday May 24, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:30AM until service time with a Rosary being prayed at 10:00AM. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Hebert died Monday May 21, 2012 at 2:30PM in a local health care facility. Mrs. Hebert was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Price Is Right, Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune and the Young and the Restless on television. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her two sons, Ricky J. Hebert of Jeanerette and David J. Hebert and wife Merline of Sorrel; five brothers, Lionel Derouen Jr. of Patoutville, Raymond, Roy and Herman Derouen all of Jeanerette and Amos Derouen of Lydia; two sisters, Emily D. Breaux of New Iberia and Anita D. Charpentier of Jeanerette; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Claude Hebert; parents, Lionel Catch Derouen and Anita Tut Tut Bonin Derouen; two daughters, Maxine H. Chase and Peggy Hebert; one brother, Ulysse Derouen; one sister, Elsie D. Rivet and a grandson, Ricky Mitchell Hebert. Pallbearers will be David, Ricky and David Hebert II, Adam Brother Migues Jr., Courtney Jolet and Amos Derouen. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. Jeanerette, La.
