Youngsville - A mass of Christian Burial for Shawn Nigga Patrick Romero, 34, will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday February 19, 2012 from 3:00PM with a recitation of a Rosary at 6:00 PM. The funeral home will remain open until time of services on Monday. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Romero a resident of Youngsville died at 6:35 AM at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette. He enjoyed horse racing, and playing poker and the slot machines at the Cash Magic Casino. He is survived by his parents Patrick and Sharon Romero of Coteau; his four sons Bryce Romero of Coteau, Chance Mullins of Albany Indiana, Blaire Romero of New Iberia, and Ty Romero of Coteau; his sister Latisha R. Segura of Coteau; and his maternal grandparents Earless and Dorothy B. Romero of Milton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents T-Joe and Irene Romero. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Segura, Paul Romero, Brandon Hanks, Nicholas Menard, Steve Bourque, and Bryce Romero, honorary pallbearers will be L.J. Romero, Dalton Romero, Blaire Romero, Chance Romero, and Dalton Romero Jr., serving as lectors will be Nikol Romero and Traci Romero, gift bearers will be Blaire Chance and Ty Romero.
