Dorothy Walters Moreau began her journey to eternal life on February 17, 2012 joining her husband, Samuel D. Moreau, and her mother, Lydia Viator Judice. She was 82 at the time, passing peacefully after a long history of health problems. Being a woman of strong will, determination, unfathomable faith and an incomprehensible ability to love her children, she now will be interceding on our behalf to our Lord and making way for us to come join her in the future. She attended Mt. Carmel as a young woman and then received her business degree from Spencer Business College. Staying in New Iberia, she worked for Red Fox for many years. She moved to Texas with her first husband and began her family there. While raising her children she also worked for St. Elizabeths Church. Being the caring woman that she was, she cared for her aging mother-in-law until she returned back to her home town of New Iberia in 1972 to be with and ultimately care for her own mother. She had always said the bayou water always brings you back. In 1981 she married Samuel D. Moreau who became her soul mate for the next 28 years until he left to begin to make a place for her in heaven. Because of her declining health, in April 2011 her son Michael and her daughter Connie moved her to Texas to be close to them. Her new home in Texas was filled with memories of her husband Sammy, her children and the many items that she had found special meaning in. Throughout her life she always held a special place in her heart for children, animals, the underfed, homeless and downtrodden and her charitable donations reflected that passion. Those of us left to benefit from her prayers are Michael Gagne, his wife Katie and their children, Michelle, Chandler, Haley and Marshall; Beth Moreau Gabriel, her husband Nick and their children Joshua and Elliott; Connie Gagnee Dowell, her husband Michael and their children Tyler and Austin; Claire Moreau Andrus, her husband Matthieu and their children Seth, Trent and Camille,; Margaret Moreau Grosser, her husband Peter and their children Carolyn and Katie; Ellen Moreau Bouton, husband Mike and children Reid and Harrison; Lydia Gagne Degueyter, husband Floyd and child Morgann; Alice Moreau Faul, husband Charlie and children Michael and Lauren as well as countless other children she adopted in her heart as their Grannie. Her sole surviving brother-in-law is Ronald Moreau.
