New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Edward Jimmy Trahan, the former Charlene Smith, 63, on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Nativity Catholic Church with Father Donald Pelous officiating. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 PM. A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Trahan died on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 7:15 PM in a Lafayette hospital. She loved Flea Markets and Antiques and founded Studio 902 Salon with partners in 1971. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward Jimmy Trahan of New Iberia; her son, Edward Trahan, Jr. of New Iberia; her daughter, Katrice R. Trahan of Atlanta, GA; her granddaughter, Jana Lyn Trahan of Atlanta, GA; her grandson, Orie Trahan of New Iberia; her brother, Charles Smith and his wife Linda of Sweetlake, LA; her sister, Karen Theriot and her husband James of Ethel; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Xavier and Hazel Cormier Smith. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
