Abbeville " Funeral Services for Ms. Claudette Farrell, 71, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Rev. Michael C. Wright officiating. Visitation will be held at Pleasant Green Baptist Church on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Pleasant Green Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Abbeville Ms. Farrell died at 5:15PM on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Hospital. She taught second grade at East Abbeville Elementary which is now Herod Elementary for over 32 years before she retired. While teaching, she also worked part time at Wal-Mart for over 10 years. She was a former member of the Knights of Peter Claver Auxiliary; and was also a former Sunday School Superintendent and Deaconess at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Yolanda Michelle Farrell of Houston, TX, and Dana Farrell-Hoffpauir of Abbeville; a brother, Michael Farrell and his wife Gaynell of New Orleans; two sisters, Genevieve F. Bourgeois of New Orleans and Kennie Marie Farrell-Creecy and her husband Kevin of New Orleans; and two grandchildren, Jaron G. Hoffpauir and Sahyra J. Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Farrell, Sr. and Augustine Jones Farrell; three brothers, Paul Farrell, Jr., Walter Charles Farrell, and Larry Farrell; and a grandson, Morgan Rene Farrell. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Dozier, Jonathan Temple, Jared Temple, Kendrick Creecy, Authur Howard, Jr., and Darren K. Farrell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Harris, Jaron G. Hoffpauir, Alfred Thibodeaux, Jr., Brady Broussard, Jordin Temple, and Kevin Creecy.
